A compelling example is the way he brings to life the scene in which the sword of Gryffindor is retrieved from an icy pool as Ron rescues Harry from being strangled by the Horcrux around his neck. The terrifying moment when Ron tries to destroy the Horcrux and Voldemort speaks to him from its depths is breath stopping. Actually reading the text sometimes seems slow and we miss things as we try to hurry along, but Dale has his own special way of making us hear every little bit.
